Maui captures the Sun

The Earth’s Power Source
The sun is the universal life force that powers our planet. It keeps time, dividing the world into night and day. The sun warms the Earth and creates the winds, the waves, the tides, the air we breathe and the food we eat.
"The Sun provides Earth with as much energy every hour as human civilization uses every year."

Silent, no moving parts, nature's magic... the way.
Maui Captures the Sun
According to Polynesian legend, the sun once traveled so quickly across the sky that people had no time to tend to their gardens or go about their daily business. They complained to the demigod Maui, asking him to do something about it.
Maui called on his brothers to help him slow down the sun. They wove long ropes from the harekeke (flax) bushes growing near their village. When these were finished, the brothers carried the ropes up to the highest mountain (Haleakalä) and laid in wait for the sun to appear in the morning sky.
Throughout the cold night, Maui encouraged his brothers to have confidence in their strength. Soon, the sun's rays began shining over the peak of Haleakalä. With great excitement, the men threw ropes over the sun (Ka La) and held on tightly, while Maui beat it with a stick. Ka La was very angry and it struggled to break free.
Maui told the sun that if it did not slow down, the people would have no time to grow and prepare their food; therefore, they would die. Maui's strength prevailed. Ka La agreed to travel more slowly across the sky. Below in the fields, the people celebrated the victory of Maui and his brothers.
Like the legend of the demigod Maui, Rising Sun Solar & Electric has set out to "capture the sun" for the good of the people. While Maui managed to harness the sun’s rays with a lasso made of harekeke, RSSE accomplishes the same feat with solar panels.
As Maui becomes increasingly developed and the costs of electricity skyrocket, solar electric will not only help residents and business owners save money, but also live in harmony with the bountiful natural resources that Maui has bestowed upon us.
